It's always a great show to see because it showcases graphic design, painting, photography, industrial design, sculpture, ceramics, and metals all at the same time! 03.02.08___Senior Thesis Show Announced!
Mark your calendars! My senior thesis show, Seeing the Unseen, will be installed at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center from April 7 - April 18, 2008. Please join me for the opening reception on Wednesday April 9 from 6:00pm - 10:00pm.
The IMC is located at 202 S. Broadway Avenue in downtown Urbana, in the historic post office building near the Lincoln Hotel. The show is free to the public and can be viewed from 10:00am - 2:00pm, and 7:00 - 9:00pm Monday through Friday, and 12:00pm - 12:00am Saturday and Sunday. The show can also be viewed by appointment.
About Seeing the Unseen:
We live in a world of strangeness and beauty, and most of the time we forget how intriguing our surroundings are. The scenes, structures, and objects we pass by every day become invisible, and we lose ourselves in the familiarity of our environment. Seeing the Unseen is an exhibition of paintings and collages by University of Illinois BFA Candidate Amanda Paulson that re-examine the apparent banality of the Midwestern landscape and lifestyle, and awaken our eyes to the invisible.
